Jack Daniels Art, Beats + Lyrics
Friday, November 10, 2017 – In my hometown of Houston, TX, Jack Daniels sponsored a dope event featuring black art, music, drinks and black culture. This yearly event tours a few selected cities every Fall and I’ve been to the event in the past but, they’ve stepped their game up! What an experience and night to remember. Not only was it a fun adult turn-up, it was my favorite price – $Free99!🤑
Furthermore, my city needed this bomb event. It was originally scheduled for earlier in September but, the day it was scheduled Harvey hit Houston, and you know the rest of that story. We DESERVED this classy, artsy turnup!
Travel Size Tip – Running tight on your budget? Always search for FREE events in your city. You can still have a great time and meet your savings goals for your next vacay!
The Vibe and Location🎉
Afros, coconut oil and trap music was the aesthetic of the night. A couple of my girls were with me as we enjoyed our night out at Union Station inside of Minute Maid Stadium, home of the recently crowned baseball champions Houston Astros. Legendary Cash Money Records DJ, Mannie Fresh, played the latest jams and of course his classics like “Project Chick”, “Get Your Roll On” and “Still Fly”. Perfect N’awlins mix with a Houston backdrop.
Of course Jack Daniels was pouring throughout the night. Everyone got free drinks for the night and I went ahead and turned up by getting a Jack on Jack – Gentleman’s Jack + Honey Jack on ice. It was smooth but not to strong. Perfect for people like me who think they can handle brown liquor lol.
Although DJ Mannie Fresh was in the house, the real stars of the show were the beautiful black artwork from artists that were spread across the exhibit hall. The baseball stadium was transformed into an urban hipster museum full of paintings of hip hop artists, civil rights leaders, R&B singers and more. In fact, they even had live painters and giveaways there!
The Art, Beats + Lyrics stops in Miami on December 15th. If you’re in Dade County, be sure to pay this event a visit. You won’t be disappointed! See more of my pics and videos on my YouTube Channel.
